Derma-Roller (Micro Needling) Product Review

If you think that acne is bad, think again. Acne scar is worse! Dark marks take a very long time to lighten and pits are most of the time permanent. I admit, I have more than just a few. I have deep acne scars on my cheeks and forehead. I've been using at-home chemical peels for years with very minimal results so I went to Let's Face It last year to ask the dermatologist if he would recommend skin micro needling. He said that skin needling would help reduce acne scars by making the skin create more collagen. He told me that I need to buy the derma roller from them (but I would not get to take it home, he said he will keep it there in a solution to keep it sterile) and it costs 8,000 Php. Aside from that, the treatment would cost 4,000 Php / session every two weeks. I obviously can't afford expensive professional treatments so I bought a skin needling kit from Sulit.com for just 2,800Php.

Dermarollers work by producing microscopic needle holes in the dermis, which prompts the skin to produce new collagen and elastin, and generate new cells. I love the result I got even from the first time of using it. I use it before going to bed and my face would look fresher and finer in the morning. Smaller pores and the lines around my mouth is less visible!

IT HURTS LIKE HELL. Even the numbing cream that came with the package is not enough! I ended up using it even without the numbing cream. I stopped after 3 months of using it once a week. Now, I just use it two days before a special event.

Will I recommend it?

If you can tolerate the pain, go for it! You will save a lot of money if you will get your own roller and do home treatment.

After the first night of using Beauche, I already noticed peeling and redness on my face. Existing pimples dried up quickly! The age eraser cream felt too heavy on my face so I just applied a thin layer during day time. After 5 days, my skin felt very tight and very sensitive, and I still get breakouts. I used it for three weeks but did not get satisfactory result. There will be one day of the week that my skin would look fine, but for the rest of the week, it looked flaky, dry and very red. During that time I thought that my skin got even worse, so I stopped.

Will I purchase again?  No. I think that the product is too strong for me. Perhaps I will purchase just the exfoliating cream (Php 200) for spot treatment but not for the entire face.

One very noticeable result is the lightening of my extremities, my hands and feet are fairer. I also noticed that the dark acne marks on my face are starting to fade faster! Slight, barely noticeable change on my arms, legs, face and body.
